PATNA: Bihar State Tourism DevelopmentCorporation (BSTDC) has offered a new year''s gift to people willing to visitBuddhist and Jain circuits in Bihar on January 1 and 2 at an affordable pricealongwith a surprise gift to each traveller.
A single person willingto travel on Patna-Rajgir-Nalanda, Pawapuri and back will have to pay only a sumof Rs 200 for sight seeing at these places. Besides, each person will get anhalf kg of "khaaja" AS a free gift.
Similarly, those who are willingto visit Patna-Gaya-Bodh Gaya and back will also have to pay only Rs 200. TheBSTDC has offered half kg "tilkut" to each person travelling in the BSTDCbus.
The third offer is on Patna-Vaisali route and back has beenoffered at the nominal rate of Rs 150 per head. Each person travelling on thisroute would be offered "sumptuous" lunch at the subsidisedrates.
BSTDC manager Ashok K Sinha told ToI:"BSTDC buses will startfrom its office premises at 7.30 am each morning for consecutive days and willagain reach in the same evening".
The BSTDC will provide its trainedguides in each buses to provide necessary information to the travellers. Theidea to introduce bus service on the new years day is mainly aimed to attractthe people in a large manner, said Sinha.
"Besides travelling at theaffordable rate, we are also promoting traditional Bihari foods to everyone", hesaid.
A large number of families living in Patna have also decided tocelebrate their new years at Rajgir, Pawapuri, Nalanda, Vaisali and Kakolat.''Since every nook and corner of the city is crowded on the first day, that''s whywe have decided to celebrate our new years away from the city", said abusinessman.
